Nelson Mandela Legacy Tour -- Day 1 and 2

Day 1 -- Tuesday, October 7th
We gathered in Atlanta to depart for South Africa.  There are twelve travelers joining us for this tour in honor of former President Nelson Mandela. Everyone is excited.  Nine of our travelers are visiting South Africa for the first time.  We are prepared for the long 14 hour flight to Johannesburg. The first obvious observation is that there are 2 men and 10 women.  We men will do our best to hold our own.

Day 2 -- Wednesday, October 8th

We arrived safely and we were greeted by our host, Robert Mashau, the owner of Bono Tours and Safaris.  This tour is a collaboration between iZania Travel Services, a service of iZania, LLC, and Bono Tours and Safaris. Our goal is to share the best kept secret of African Travel -- South Africa. We are tired but looking forward to an exciting adventure.

As we gathered in our hotel, the men are still holding up.  We are staying at the Rosebank Holiday Inn, in the Johannesburg suburb of Rosebank.  The accommodations are modern and very comfortable in this new facility. We were greeted with complimentary drinks at check-in, and quickly prepared for dinner at one of the more popular Black restaurants in Johannesburg.

Dinner at Moyo's
Moyo's is a Nigerian owned restaurant with 5 locations in South Africa. The food was great, there was live jazz music,  and everyone had lots of fun -- especially those who got their faces painted with African symbols. Paul is the chief.

Tomorrow we embark for the Kruger National Park to go Big Five sighting -- Elephant, Lion, Rhinoceros, Water Buffalo, and Leopards.  We are also sure to see lots of zebras, giraffes, antelope, monkeys, and other wild life. Stay tuned for some awesome photos.  We are off to a safari.

Stay tuned,
